Female power as part of the X-raid DNA
12/02/2025
- 50% women in the X-raid crews
- They are an indispensable part of the team’s history
A few years ago, women – especially in the driver’s seat – were still a rare sight in cross-country rallying. Today, however, they are a firmly established part of the starting field. At X-raid, they have always been an indispensable part of the team’s history. This year, the proportion of women in the X-raid crews reaches a historic peak of 50% – a milestone to be proud of!
Just a few years after the team was founded, Jutta Kleinschmidt became the first woman to drive an X-raid desert racer. Since then, many women have proven themselves either as drivers or co-drivers. Some were only part of the German team for a short period of time, while with many others, X-raid wrote history over several years.
Here is an overview, in alphabetical order, of all the strong women who have competed with X-raid at rallies around the world.
