Joao Ferreira and Filipe Palmeiro are still firmly in sight of overall victory in the FIA European Baja Cup. At the Hungarian Baja, the third of five events, the two Portuguese secured victory in the MINI JCW Rally Plus – their second in the 2024 European Cup.
As in the previous rallies this season, Ferreira was one of the favourites to win at the Hungarian Baja. He more than lived up to this role. The young Portuguese secured first place in the prologue and in all three special stages. This means that after his first place at the Baja Extremadura in Spain, he has now won his second race of the season in the FIA European Baja Cup. The Spaniard Nani Roma was shown as the fastest driver by the timekeeping, but he started outside the classification.
With the Baja TT Sharish in mid-September in Portugal and the Baja Troia in Turkey, two events in the FIA European Baja Cup are still open. But before that, the Baja Poland is on the programme as part of the FIA World Baja Cup (22-25 August 2024).
