New FIA points system for Baja Cups

From the 2024 season onwards, the overall standings of the FIA World Baja Cup and the FIA European Baja Cup will no longer be based solely on the final placings. Instead, the number of participants in the various vehicle groups (e.g. Ultimate, Challenger,…) will now be taken into account.

The following points will be awarded to the participants depending on the final result in each group (e.g. Ultimate, Challenger, etc.):

1st  30 points
2nd  25 points
3rd  20 points
4th  17 points
5th  15 points
6th  13 points
7th  11 points
8th  9 points
9th  8 points
10th  7 points
11th  6 points
12th  5 points
13th  4 points
14th  3 points
15th  2 points

In addition, points will be awarded for the ranking of each stage and each group:

1st  5 points
2nd  4 points
3rd  3 points
4th  2 points
5th  1 point

  • Stage points are only awarded if the stage contains at least 50 kilometres of special stage.
  • No stage points will be awarded to crews that have received a stage or special stage penalty during the stage in question.
  • If a crew is not in the final classification, stage points will only be awarded if the vehicle is in the Parc Fermé at the finish at least one hour before the publication of the provisional classification.
  • If these points are not awarded, the crews behind in the classification will not move up in the stage points classification.

The total points and the classification points are multiplied by a coefficient that depends on the number of registered participants who started in the respective group:

5 participants or less:  coefficient 1
6 to 10 participants:  coefficient 1.2
11 participants or more:  coefficient 1.5
