Cross-country rallies and especially the Dakar Rally are a logistical challenge. The number of all spare parts and tyres must be planned and packed in advance. In contrast to circuit races, the teams cannot fall back on fixed pit lanes, but have to build up the service park themselves.
In some service trucks different workshops are installed. A composite department, in which the carbon parts are repaired if possible, a workshop for electronics and a department for shock absorbers and transmissions. In addition, there is a production department for welding work and the manufacturing of holders or parts that cannot be replaced.
Our service trucks are equipped with all-wheel drive and can therefore also be used on sandy ground. Some trucks are equipped with roll-over cages and can rescue a racing car from a special stage in an emergency and tow it back to the service park.
The X-raid fleet comprises numerous MAN trucks for the rally service as well as race trucks, both of which are designed for rally use and can be rented on request. Please contact us for further information.
